| David H. Adamkin, M.D. |
 David H. Adamkin, M.D. is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Louisville. Dr. Adamkin is Director of the Division of Neonatal Medicine, Director of the Neonatal Fellowship Program and Director of Neonatal Nutrition Research. Having received a B.S. Cum laude with distinction in research from Ohio State University in 1970, Dr. Adamkin graduated in 1974 from the State University of New York Upstate Medical School and stayed there where he fulfilled a Pediatric residency. Thereafter, he completed a Neonatal fellowship at the University of Louisville, and joined the University of Louisville Pediatric Faculty in 1978. He has since risen through the ranks to Professor and to Division Director of Neonatal Medicine. His research interest is in Neonatal Nutrition. He has authored over eighty-seven articles, 29 book chapters and 4 books dealing with methods and strategies to nourish premature infants. This includes research in infant formula development and human milk. He teaches nutrition to neonatologists nationally for the American Academy of Pediatrics and also lectures annually in Europe. Among his most recent accomplishments: a six-year appointment to the Committee on Fetus and Newborn for the American Academy of Pediatrics; Neonatal Nutritional Books and Pocket Manuals published in English as well as Polish and; in 2009, Dr. Adamkin received a Honoris Causa Doctorus from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland.
